Job Description
Reporting to the Director of Operations and Maintenance, the incumbent serves as a technical expert in electronics, automation, and industrial systems to optimize the performance, reliability, and availability of port equipment. He or she supports operations and maintenance teams, contributes to the continuous improvement of assets, and ensures the proper functioning of the Port’s electrical, IT, and automation systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a technical advisor to the operations and maintenance team (electronics, automation, communications, IT).
- Monitor the performance and optimization of port equipment (conveyors, ship loaders, PLCs, networks, servers, cameras, etc.).
- Analyze operational data and performance indicators of the equipment under supervision.
- Record ship loading operational data to generate statistics and perform reliability analysis.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, modernization, and asset replacement (long-term planning and five-year plan).
- Develop technical procedures, maintain documentation, and update systems.
- Participate in the planning and coordination of major maintenance while ensuring ongoing maintenance follow-up.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting (mechanical, electrical, automation) on-site and remotely (occasional on-call).
- Participate in managing parts inventories and the IT/electrical budget.

Required Qualifications
- College diploma (DEC) in Electrical Engineering or relevant technical training.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in an industrial or similar environment.
- Knowledge of industrial programming.
- Knowledge of industrial networking (an asset).
- Experience in managing maintenance of industrial and mining facilities and using maintenance management software.
